The story of y(our) MCR…

Harris Manchester is the only Oxford college which is dedicated solely to mature students (21+ with no upper age limit). It has a warm and friendly atmosphere in which each student is supported and treated as an individual.

Our diversity of age, nationality and background makes the college a very interesting and vibrant community. Therefore, we have the Middle Common Room (MCR) members for all postgraduates admitted to our range of postgraduate degrees.

What makes HMC MCR so unique?

Being a graduate at Harris Manchester is very like being an undergraduate here: postgraduates can and do use the Junior Common Room (JCR) and the majority of social events are for all students to participate in.

We do advocate for more collaboration between the JCR and MCR so that more of our community will benefit from interacting with different levels of education.
